Over the past few weeks we have implemented a number of important changes to help support children to follow consistent hygiene practices. Staff have planned a number of activities to help promote children’s understanding of handwashing and hygiene. Children have particularly enjoyed using the new outdoor sink to wash their hands when they arrive at nursery.
They have also made great use of our ‘snuffle stations’ to attend to their own needs including, wiping their noses and cleaning their hands. This helps to develop children’s independence as well as an understanding of why it is important to look follow good hygiene practices.
Staff help support children’s understanding of germs and bacteria through a planned activity.
